Some beer makers are adventurous. Others are borderline insane.

I happen to love the mentally unstable brewers out there, and Twisted Pine sure knows how to push all the right buttons on me. The guys behind the beer-inferno known as Ghostface Killah may have outdone themselves on this, part of their “Farm To Foam” series. Focusing on local farmers and ingredients, this line of brews is a testament to Colorado pride…and inventiveness. While certainly not for critics of cucumbers, this latest frothy adventure is a gift from above to those that are fans of that phallic gourd. Copious quantities of the vegetable added after brewing makes for a near-perfect warm weather beverage. In fact, it’s so refreshing and easy to imbibe that it almost works to the brew’s detriment. With a hefty price tag topping $13 for a bomber, it’s not the kind of beer you want to gulp down like you’re shot-gunning a Coors. Nonetheless, it’s a wildly tasty ale that isn’t anywhere near as weird as it sounds. Highly recommended.
